		The 255 bed Memorial Hermann Northeast Hospital is a part of The Memorial Healthcare System, which is in the top 5 percent in the nation and has been named as one of the best places to work in Houston for the past four years. Several five-star ratings have been bestowed upon Memorial Hermann hospitals along with the Distinguished Hospital Award for Clinical Excellence from HealthGrades.
Memorial Hermann serves the greater Houston community through 14 hospitals and many specialty programs and services, including three premiere Heart & Vascular Institutes, Memorial Hermann\|TIRR and Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital, the Roger Clemens Institute for Sports Medicine & Human Performance, the Mischer Neuroscience Institute, seven comprehensive Cancer Centers, 27 sports medicine and rehabilitation centers, a substance abuse treatment center and dozens of other specialty and outpatient centers.


The City of Humble (pop. 14,500) a part of the Greater Humble area (pop. 288,000), which includes Atascocita, the City of Humble, Kingwood, and Spring, all of which are currently experiencing robust population and economic growth. (See the Map). Encompassing nearly 100 square miles of land in northeast Harris County, the area is largely forested. Due to its natural beauty, the recreation of Lake Houston and the San Jacinto River, the proximity of Bush Intercontinental Airport and the Port of Houston, and the quality of its many subdivisions, the area has proven to be a strong attraction to newcomers.
		Physicians may choose to live in Kingwood, a large, 14,000 acre master planned community, divided into 21 planned "villages," each with a separate village association, distinct style, and varying home prices. Another option is Atascocita, located in the northeastern part of Harris County, six miles east of Humble. Atascocita is bordered by Lake Houston and is home to many parks, golf courses, country clubs, and over 15 established neighborhoods.
Lake Houston Park is an Urban Wilderness Park of 5,000 acres located 11 miles northeast of Humble. Cabins and walk-in campsites are available for rental. Activities include hiking, biking, canoeing, kayaking, and horseback riding. The Humble Community Center, a multifunction entertainment, convention and trade show facility, is one the many amenities in the Humble area. Another is Lone Star College System, serving the northern portions of the Greater Houston, Texas, area. With 49,250 students, it is the largest college system in the Houston area, and third largest community college district in Texas.
