Seeking a full-time BC/BE Emergency Medicine physician for a Level III Trauma facility - Ponca City Medical Center

Multi county service (50,000 + lives)

24,000 visits annually, averaging 1.8 patients per hour

$7 million dollar enhancement beginning summer of 2007

9 bed ED growing to 15 beds

Addition of 3 room FastTrack

36 hours of coverage a day, 24 hours of Physician and 12 hours of Mid-level

Base compensation above the national average for Boarded ED Physicians at $170 per hour

Two tier performance bonus potential up to $30 per hour

Full complement of specialists available (Ortho, Neuro, OB-Gyn, Cardio, etc.)

State of the Art digital imaging services

Flight services available, approximately 10 minutes ground to ground

BLS, ACLS, PALS, ATLS certifications required

Physicians and Nurses in the ED are held to the highest standards with mandatory certifications in
ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and much more


		The Hospital ... Ponca City Medical Center is a 140 bed JCAHO facility with a comprehensive assortment of services to the community. From a state of the art Cardiac Cath lab to an active 12 bed Geriatric Medicine Unit, PCMC is constantly striving to meet or exceed its patients' needs and wants. PCMC boasts a medical staff covering almost all specialties including Orthopedics, Neurology, Otolaryngology, and Cardiology to name a few. With 46 active practitioners, PCMC is able to draw upon their expertise to make sure patients are given quality care.


Ponca City, a community of 29,948 is located in north central Oklahoma, 18 miles south of the Kansas border and 15 miles east of Interstate 35 (See the Map). Strategically located within 90 minutes of three major metropolitan communities, Ponca City has the amenities normally found only in larger communities but without the hassles of traffic jams, overcrowding, high utility rates and urban crime. 	Built in 1927, the Poncan Theatre was the grandest in town. Live performances and silent features were accompanied by a Wurlitzer organ, two pianos and the Poncan Orchestra. Today, the Poncan has been restored to its original glory and special events are scheduled regularly. The Centennial Plaza, with its backdrop of Spanish Colonial Revival architecture, was started as a project for the Centennial year of the 1893 run. It contains bricks engraved with the names of pioneers, descendants, organizations, supporters and others who helped make the project a success.
The grand Marland Estate Mansion, one of America's castles, is a showplace containing approximately 48,000 square feet spread over four floors. Breathtakingly beautiful, this "Palace on the Prairie" denotes incredible attention to detail with carved wood, sculptured stone, wrought iron arched doorways, Waterford crystal chandeliers and hand-painted and gold-leaf ceilings. Today Marland's gracious home and grounds are open for touring and still provide the backdrop for lavish galas, balls and festivals.
		For maximum enjoyment, close-by is scenic Lake Ponca. Skiing, Jet skis, and boats are all allowed on the lake. Outdoor lovers enjoy picnics, fishing, camping, and/or hiking through the Nature Center, while golfers are challenged at the 18-hole Lew Wentz Memorial Golf Course, which lies along the north bank of the Lake. Kaw Lake is located on the Arkansas River in Kay and Osage Counties about 8 miles east of Ponca City. Kaw Lake's beauty is like a beacon urging you to come romp and play in nature's playground. You will find well-designed public campgrounds tucked into the many coves and inlets. Also, you will find roads that take you where you need to go and trails for hiking, horseback riding and mountain hiking. There is an abundance of clean fresh air, sparkling water, earth beneath your feet and a clear sky. It's an ideal vantage point to view nesting eagles in winter, and for those who hunt and fish, Kaw Lake is a gold mine of opportunity.
