  • The EDís team includes BC emergency physicians, PAs, NPs and registered nurses
  • Department includes a Chest Pain Center for people experiencing symptoms of a heart attack and
    First Care Center for walk-in patients with less serious illnesses/injuries
  • Medical center is home base for LifeFlight of Maine, the stateís only medical helicopter service

  • Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide leadership and development for staff, articulating and demonstrating an expectation for high performance,

  • Ensures effective performance management, succession planning, talent development, and leadership development

    are provided to enhance the overall capability of the team and contribute to employee engagement and retention
  • Clinical and Operations
  • Monitor patient experience and patient flow. Design and implement process improvement strategies
    to improve and optimize these areas across their sites
  • Plan, develop, organize, implement, direct and evaluate the systems EDís financial and operational performance
  • Ensure clinical, operational, risk management and financial performance achieves or exceeds expectations
  • Relationships
  • Ensure site-level leadership performance is within expectations of system leadership
  • Investigate and respond to operational performance, patient care and personnel issues (physicians or APSs) raised by leadership
  • Work collaboratively with Nursing leadership to ensure coordination and consistency of strategy and operational implementation
  • Required Education and Experience
  • Medical Degree
  • Medical Board Certification
  • State Medical License
  • Preferred Education and Experience
  • EM Residency Training
  • ABEM Board Certification Ė active
  • 5 + years physician leadership experience
  • Lewiston is the second largest city in the state. It is well-known for its relatively low cost of living, substantial access to medical care and extremely low violent-crime rate.
